Shropshire Letter Admits Violation of Bylaws; Fails to Credit the Economy for Revenues

You may have recently received a letter from Al that claims that he was not involved in the nepotism hire of his wife as Training Director because he resigned from the JATC before she was hired. In doing so he violated 290’s bylaws. The assertion that it wasn’t a nepotism hire is also false since the local 290 voting members that selected his wife were hired by Al and serve at his pleasure. Additionally, it is clear that this was a nepotism hire because Al’s wife was missing a number of qualifications for the job.

Al also claims that revenues are up since he took office. This is true, with money from the Industry Advancement fund for staff (over $1 Million a year) however he is spending at an unsustainable paceā€”not putting enough in reserves for after the Intel work is over. Is Mr. Shropshire taking credit for creating the best economic conditions since 2008? What about now when our funds are rapidly shrinking?!
